Background

In celebration of this year’s International Day for Biological Diversity, the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) hosted a webinar entitled, “Biodiversity and preventing future pandemics,” on 20 May 2020.

The webinar featured experts from different parts of Asia to discuss the interlinkages between biodiversity and health; ASEAN’s response to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic; nature-based solutions to prevent pandemics in the future; and ASEAN’s efforts in combatting illegal wildlife trade.
