Nat Ma Taung National Park (NMTNP) is located in Kanpetlet, Matupi, and Mindat Townships of Chin State, Myanmar, and covers an area of approximately 722,600 hectares. The park is known as a “plant hunter’s paradise” for its floral diversity and features Mt. Victoria, the highest mountain in Chin Hill, Chin State, called Khaung Neu Thom or “Earth Mother Goddess” in the Chin language.
Under the SGP, interventions aim to reduce traditional agriculture (shifting agriculture), uncontrolled grazing, unsustainable non-timber forest product (NTFP) collection, illegal selective logging, and wildlife hunting at NMTNP.
