The ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) intends to engage the services of a local Indonesia National Biodiversity Consultant under the Effectively Managing Networks of Marine Protected Areas in Large Marine Ecosystems in the ASEAN Region (ASEAN ENMAPS) Project.
The National Biodiversity Consultant will support the integration of project data and information into Indonesia’s biodiversity data management systems, strengthening strategic policy development and capacity building within the Ministry and National Parks
- Workplan Development and Biodiversity Assessment
- Compile and review secondary data, including ASEAN ENMAPS scientific studies and relevant reports
- Conduct data analysis on biodiversity to assess the current status and trends of key species, habitats, and ecosystems
- Develop a comprehensive work plan for updating the biodiversity conservation status of priority species and habitats within project sites
- Support Multi-stakeholder Consultations particularly relating to
- Review and updating of Marine Protected Area (MPA) Management Plans and the zonation of National Parks
- Design of MPA Networks
- Management Effectiveness Assessments
- Data collection, Documentation, and Knowledge Management
- Support data collection, documentation, and database management
- Assist in the implementation of technology and/or knowledge transfer and management of database and knowledge systems
- Contribute to public communication and knowledge management
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports for submission to the Ministry of Forestry and other relevant institutions related to the Project
- Administrative Support and General Tasks:
- Provide administrative support related to project implementation
- Assist in logistical arrangements for meetings, consultations, and field activities
- Support coordination and communication among project stakeholders
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned periodically by the National Project Manager (NPM) – Indonesia
Interested applicants shall have the following minimum qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in in fisheries, marine biology, or fields related to marine and/or environmental sciences
- Experience in conservation, database and/or knowledge management,
- Preference will be given to applicants with background in GIS and other spatial/mapping tools.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, with the ability to coordinate effectively across all stakeholders’ types.
Language
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Bahasa Indonesia is required
