The ACB will showcase once again the ASEAN region’s natural richness and ecological significance, as well as its ongoing efforts in biodiversity conservation at the Sustainability Expo 2025.
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) is set to promote the region’s natural wealth and conservation efforts in this year’s Sustainability Expo. This will be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand from 26 September to 5 October 2025, focusing on the theme, ‘’Sufficiency for Sustainability.’’
Dubbed as the largest sustainability expo in Southeast Asia, the event aims to advance sustainable development goals and present solutions to global sustainability challenges by highlighting trends in various aspects of sustainability that are adaptable to the modern world. It is expected to attract audiences from the private sector, academia, government, non-government organisations, international organisations, and the general public to its various features such as exhibitions, sustainability talks and forums, marketplaces, and arts and culture.
Dr. Jerome L. Montemayor, executive director of the ACB is also set to call for collective biodiversity and climate actions across sectors in his talk titled, “#WeAreASEANBiodiversity: Key actors and sectors in biodiversity conservation.” The talk, slated for 29 September, will be emphasising the critical roles of ASEAN’s youth, women, indigenous people, local communities, government, socio-civic organisations, businesses, and other stakeholders in building harmony with nature in accordance with the ASEAN Biodiversity Plan and the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
The ASEAN biodiversity exhibit will focus on key thematic areas, including biodiversity conservation; sustainable use, access, and benefit-sharing; mainstreaming biodiversity across various sectors and development processes; communication, education, and public awareness; and partnerships.

In 2024, the ASEAN exhibition at the Sustainability Expo 2025 showcased digital platforms, success stories in biodiversity conservation, and initiatives leveraging technology for conservation. The ACB distributed more than 3,000 communication, education, and public awareness (CEPA) and promotional materials. Last year, about 393,891 visitors were recorded during the week-long Sustainability Expo. This year’s showcase will be supported by Eton Properties, one of the ACB’s partners from the private sector. -END
