    TERMS OF REFERENCE

    A. BACKGROUND

    The ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB), established in 2005, is ASEAN’s response to the challenge of biodiversity loss. It is an intergovernmental organisation that facilitates cooperation and coordination among the 10 ASEAN Member States (AMS) and with regional and international organisations on the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity, and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of such natural treasures.

    The ACB is seeking dynamic, innovative, and committed candidates for the Development Communication Associate role under the Communication Department to help the ACB in raising awareness of the value of conserving the ASEAN region’s biological resources.

    B. SCOPE OF DUTIES

    Under the Development Communication Division of the Communication Department, the Development Communication Associate will perform the following tasks:

    ● Assist in conceptualising, developing, and producing communication, education, and public awareness materials;
    ● Assist in editing ACB publications, promotional materials, policy briefs, proceedings, reports, etc.
    ● Facilitate the development and production of the ACB’s official newsletter, ACBeats, in coordination with the Multimedia Officer, Development Communication Officer, and Communication Officer.
    ● Provide administrative and communication support to ACB programmes, projects, events, and activities (conferences, workshops, webinars, etc.)
    ● Assist in the layout and design of multimedia products and presentations;
    ● Provide support in the development, production, and implementation of physical and virtual exhibits;
    ● Serve as the focal person for the internship programme of the department; and
    ● Perform other related functions as may be assigned by the Director of the Communication Department.

    C. QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Work Experience
    ● Bachelor’s degree in Development Communication, or related field of study; or
    ● Non-related Bachelor’s Degree with at least three (3) years of related work experience
    ● Relevant work experience in communication or project management.
    ● Related experience working on a project with an international organisation is a plus.
    ● A good working knowledge of environment and biodiversity issues in the ASEAN is an advantage.

    Nationality
    ● Must be a citizen of the Philippines.

      experiences make him/her suitable for the position. Address the letter to Executive Director Dr. Jerome L. Montemayor. JP 2025-18 Development Communication Associate should be indicated in the aforesaid letter.
    2. Updated curriculum vitae, work portfolio, and diploma, or transcript of records
