ACB National Contact Points for ASEAN Member Countries hold first meeting

The first meeting of ACB National Contact Points for ASEAN Member Countries was held 24-25 April 2008 at the Dusit Hotel in Makati City, Philippines. National Contact Points are environment officials of ASEAN Member Countries who serve as focal point for information exchange and coordination of activities supported by ACB.

ACB Executive Director Rodrigo U. Fuentes said the NCPs are also partners of the ACB in pursuing awareness and visibility efforts as well as on networking and resource mobilization activities with funding donors, environment-related agencies and organizations in the public and private sectors within the ASEAN Member Countries.

During the meeting, the roles and responsibilities of NCPs were discussed. ACB and the participants exchanged view on ways on strengthening NCP and ACB operations in their respective countries.
