Some 700 runners, including singer-actress and environmentalist Karylle and band vocalist Yael Yuson, converged at the foothills of the legendary Mt. Makiling in Los Baños for the First Biodiversity Run organized by the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity (ACB) on September 4, 2010.

Taxonomy, the science of describing, naming and classifying organisms, is a building block for information sharing on flora and fauna. The last few decades, however, saw the discipline of taxonomy falling off the global political, funding, and academic agendas.
