Dr. Sheila G. Vergara is a marine ecologist by training. She has managed projects that focused on coastal zone management, marine biodiversity conservation, and coastal zone management training. She worked with the Philippine Council for Aquatic and Marine Research and Development, the Philippines’ Department of Environment and Natural Resources, and various international non-government organizations such as the WorldfishCenter and Conservation International. Dr. Vergara continues to share her interest in coastal environment management and biodiversity conservation as a guest lecturer at the School of Environmental Science and Management of the University of the Philippines in Los Baños.

Manny’s expertise lies in Information, Communication and Technology, Knowledge Management, as well as Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing applications. He has 23 years experience in development projects and was involved in various stages of project cycles, from conceptualization, feasibility and financing, implementation, sustainability and monitoring. He also designed, developed and managed applications such as decision support systems (DSS) in knowledge management work. Manny has a degree in Geology from the University of the Philippines, and has completed coursework for the masteral programs in Geology and Remote Sensing. He is currently working on a Masters in Information Systems at the Open University of the University of the Philippines.
